Expect Unstable Weather Over the Next Few Days

ABU DHABI & RAS AL KHAIMAH - Cold wave and drizzling sent the mercury down to 18 degrees in Abu Dhabi on Monday.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology in Abu Dhabi cautioned motorists to be careful and watch out for slippery roads due to the rains that are expected today, which will bring visibility down.

Beach goers have been cautioned to stay away from the sea as the waves are going to be high and rough with wind blowing at a speed of 25 knots.

The wave height is expected to be 6-8 feet offshore and 3-5 feet onshore.

According to the centre, the next few days will witness unstable weather conditions in the country due to cold winds blowing from the Mediterranean basin.

The low pressure over the Red Sea has also been adding to the unstable weather conditions, a duty forecaster at the centre said on Monday.

The maximum temperature in Abu Dhabi and Dubai will be 19-23 degrees Celsius with humidity levels of 70-90 per cent.

Meanwhile, heavy rains and thunderstorm hit most areas of RAK on Monday afternoon. Some of the main roads in Nakheel, Khuzam, Al Rams and Kharran areas were submerged and affected traffic movement.
