ID Card Deadline Extended for Emiratis

ABU DHABI - Emiratis will have three more months time to register for the Emirates Identification Authority card after the deadline of December 31 was extended following a cabinet decision on Sunday.

The decision, under the directions of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, also stated that no fine would be imposed on those who failed to register before the earlier deadline.

Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior, said Shaikh Mohammed’s decision would provide an opportunity for those UAE citizens who have not been able to register earlier.
