Dubai Marina Mall Opens

DUBAI - The Dubai Marina Mall, part of the Emaar Malls Group, opened on Monday, a media release stated.

The subsidiary of Emaar Properties is offering a gross leasable area of 390,000 sq ft across four levels.

Featuring 160 retail outlets including a supermarket, fashion wear and accessory outlets, jewellers and boutiques, the mall also provides over 2,000 underground car parking spaces.

The waterfront location has also lined up top rate restaurants along an extensive promenade overlooking the Arabian Gulf. The promenade is set to open early 2009.

Jim Badour, CEO-Emaar Malls Group, said: “Emaar Malls Group is offering a varied mix of shopping and entertainment options.”

Ian Ferguson, GM-Dubai Marina Mall, added: “The mall will serve a large cross-section of the public. For visitors to Dubai, the mall’s waterfront ambience and unique mix of retail and F&B outlets will be a distinctive experience.”

The majority of specialty stores will be open by early 2009 in time for Dubai Shopping Festival.

The Address, Dubai Marina hotel and serviced residences, adjoining the mall; a six-screen Cineplex and a 7-storey Gourmet Tower dedicated to diverse cuisines will be part of the mall complex and are scheduled to open during 2009.
