Concert to Mark Celebrations

ABU DHABI - Mohammed Abdou at a live concert in Abu Dhabi is one of the many surprises being lined up by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) for the 37th UAE National Day celebrations.

The three-day festivities will take place in the capital and Al Ain, with the programmes mostly concentrated on Arabic music concerts.

In Abu Dhabi, Al Wasmi, Elyssa and Mohammed Abdou will perform on December 2.

On the second day of the celebrations, Al Jasmi, Chereen Abdel Wahab and Ahlam will be on stage, while on the third day singers Kazem Al Saher, Asala and Aydah Al Minhali will be on show.

All concerts will be free of charge and they will take place at Arras Al Akhdar, Abu Dhabi’s public beach (behind Emirates Palace), from 9pm until approximately 1am.

In addition, from 4 pm, along the Corniche, there will be traditional music and dances such as Al Harbiya and Al Ayala, as well as circus performances and a few other surprises, during the holidays.

In Al Ain, there will also be three days of concerts in the Al Tawiyah area. Harbi Al Amri, Angham and Kazem Al Saher will be singing on December 2, followed by Aydah Al Minhali, Alyazih and Asala on December 3 and Al Wasmi, Latifah and Al Jasmi on December 4.

ADACH is also preparing a musical show, Zayed and the Dream, directed by Ivan Caracalla, which will take place on December 2, at the National Theatre in Abu Dhabi.

Inspired by the life and achievements of the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the musical will be performed by the Lebanese Caracalla Dance Theatre. The show requires a specially constructed stage that will be able to support seven horses, meant to symbolise the seven emirates.

“Zayed and the Dream is a musical which is a call for beauty, creativity, love and peace,” explained Caracalla.
